“Prima Donna”  Natural Touristm Destination Specifically for Extreme Adventures in Gunungkidul of Yogyakarta

I. Adventure in Jomblang Cave

The extreme adventure in Jomblang Cave is located in Semanu District, Gunungkidul Regency, approximately 60 km from Yogyakarta City, a 2-hour drive.

This place is known as one of the most popular cave adventure destinations in Indonesia, as visitors must descend into a vertical cave using ropes, similar to rock climbing.

Jomblang Cave is a vertical cave formed by the collapse of soil and vegetation thousands of years ago. This natural phenomenon creates an iconic sight known as “Heaven’s Light,” when sunlight penetrates a hole at the top of the cave. Visitors can experience a unique adventure by descending using a single rope technique to explore the cave’s beauty from within.

A. Overview of Jomblang Cave Extreme Tourism

Jomblang Cave is a vertical cave formed by the collapse of karst soil, creating a large hole leading underground, approximately 50–80 meters deep.

The adventure here is very challenging, as tourists must descend using a rappelling technique with ropes.

Caving equipment such as a helmet, harness, and special shoes are required.

Explore the cave to another section called Luweng Grubug.
